Cervecería Bucanero

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cerveceria Bucanero SA ( CBSA ) is a Cuban brewing companies. It was founded on May 2, 1997 . Since 2014, the brewery has been owned 50% by the AB-InBev subsidiary AmBev and the Cuban state. Its headquarters are in the capital, Havana , while the brewery is in the eastern Cuban city of Holguín due to the better water quality . The island's largest beer distribution company has an annual production of around 1.5 million hectoliters of beer .

history

The brewery in Holguin was in 1988 with the help of DDR - Technology built. At that time, however, only the Mayabe beer brand was produced there. In 1997, CBSA was founded by Corporación Alimentaria SA, the Cuban food company, and a subsidiary of what was then Interbrew NV, Cerburco Brewing INC. Today, different types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beers are brewed there (see: Products).

In the first half of 2014, the brewery had to interrupt beer production for several months, for which the company management then gave the reason that the malt imported from the Czech Republic did not arrive on time. The interruption led to supply gaps in retail. The Cuban public was only informed of the problems after readers complained to the party organ Granma and production had since resumed.
