Cesar AV Purisima is a Filipino politician .

biography

After attending school, he first studied commercial management at the University of De La Salle in Manila , where he earned a Bachelor of Science (BS Commerce). He then completed a post-graduate course in business administration at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Illinois with a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

He then began his career as a Certified Public Accountants ( Certified Public Accountant ) in the firm SyCip, Gorres, Velayo & Co., where he first of 1980 to 1989 Auditor was. He then became a partner of the firm before he was finally Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sycip, Gorres, Velayo & Co. from 1999 to December 2003 .

During this time he was also temporarily chairman of the Philippine- French Economic Council, co-chairman of the Philippine- Thai Economic Council, member of the Philippine- Japanese Economic Cooperation Committee, member of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry , member of the Institute of Certified Accountants and member of Rotary Club of Manila . In addition, since 1997 he has been the main shareholder of Filhouse Gem Inc.

On December 20, 2003, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo appointed him Secretary of Trade and Industry in her cabinet. This post he held until 2005, and was followed by a government reshuffle briefly finance minister ( Secretary of Finance ).

After the elections in the Philippines in 2010 , he was on June 30, 2010 by President Benigno Aquino III. also appointed finance minister in his cabinet.
