Cesare Acelli

Cesare Acelli (also: Cesare Accelli; * before 1580, † after 1588) was an Italian composer.

Life

Since Cesare Acellii's madrigals are included in three anthologies that include works by other composers from Mantua, it is believed that he came from Mantua.

Works (selection)

Between 1586 and 1588, five madrigals composed by Cesare Acelli with three to five voices were published, which are still known today. He also wrote the poem L'inargentato Lido, which Gasparo Zerto set to music.
