Life

In 1920 Emma Gramatica signed Bettarini as a young lover, for which the tall, handsome, stately young actor was perfect. Until the 1930s he concentrated on his stage activities in various ensembles. Only occasionally did he take up roles offered by the film industry. He made his debut as "Tommy" in Mario Camerini's Come le foglie ; two years later he played alongside Gramatica in La damigella di Bard . Two years later he had a great stage success when he had a furious season with comedies ( L'antenato , Noce di cocco ) with Antonio Gandusio and Kiki Palmer . In 1939, he was the partner Elsa Merlinis in L'ultimo ballo of Ferenc Herczeg .

Bettarini is described as a respected actor with good upbringing and correct behavior´, which also includes a certain coldness and detachment; his fresh and pleasant voice made him find a number of tasks as a voice actor. In 1957/1958 the musical comedy Un paio d'ali showed that his skills were best demonstrated in prose pieces.
