Cestos City , also River Cess , is a city in Liberia . It is the capital of River Cess County .

The city is located on the Cestos Bay with the confluence of the Cestos River in the Atlantic and is about 160 kilometers southeast of Monrovia . In addition to the district administration, there are also some processing companies for fish products and canned food. Today the city has around 2578 inhabitants.

Today's River Cess County was part of Grand Bassa County from 1887 , the first administrative center was Timbo City . From 1912 to 1955 the area was administered as the River Cess Territory , with the administration being moved to the coastal town of River Cess City - today's Cestos City . A territorial and administrative reform for Liberia was demanded from the population in 1976, and River Cess County was formed.
