The men's team was first in the Rhineland League in 1960 with the active players Duro Dmitrovic, Manfred Keinarth, Horst Adams, Emil Jonen, Gerhard Fleischer and Kuhn. She then played from 1960 to 1963 in the Oberliga Südwest, the top German division at the time. Relegation was followed by immediate resurgence in the 1966/67 season with the cast of Duro Dmitrovic, Johannes Adams, Gerhard Fleischer, Rainer Wagner, Herbert Meurer and Horst Heisel. Graf Spee, Bensberg and Seul were also active during this period. From 1994 the men's team fell from the upper league (now only the third highest division) back to the district league.

The women's department was strengthened in 1966 when the entire team from TV Bad Niederbreisig joined the club. They qualified in 1972 as fourth in the Oberliga Südwest for participation in the new Bundesliga . Here they finished sixth in the 1972/73 season. At the end of this season they were withdrawn from the Bundesliga. In 1987 the women's division was completely dissolved. Well-known players were Ruth Richter (now the wife of Hanno Deutz ), Gaby Decker (three-time Rhineland champion), Dorothee Kuß and Monika Pelkowsky.
