Chahai

The Chahai site ( Chinese  查 海 遗址 , Pinyin Cháhǎi yízhǐ , English Chahai site ) is an archaeological site in Manchuria. It is a settlement site of the Neolithic Xinglongwa culture , which is named after the place where it was found - the village of Chahai 查 海 村 (Chahaicun) in Shala Municipality in Fuxin County in the prefecture -level city of Fuxin in northeast China's Liaoning Province . It is dated to around 8000-7000 years ago.

The site is famous for its early jade artifacts.

The Chahai site ( Chahai yizhi ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (4-7) since 1996 .

A museum has been established at the site, the Fuxin City Chahai Sites Museum .
