The Chain Moraines ( English for bicycle chain moraines ) are wandering moraines in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . They are located 5 km east of Skew Peak at the confluence of the Rim , Sprocket and Mackay glaciers and include the lateral moraines on the western flank of the Rim glacier.
The naming in 1995 by the New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee goes back to the use of bicycles as a means of transport when exploring the area by the team led by the New Zealand glaciologist Trevor J. H. Chinn (* 1937) between 1992 and 1993.
