The Chalung (or Kula ) is a mountain in the Indian Union Territory of Ladakh .
The Chalung, located in the Rupshu region in the east of Ladakh, is at 6546 m the highest point in the north of the Thalda Kurmi mountain group . A first ascent of Chalung was achieved on July 11, 1997, by a Japanese expedition led by Tsunso Suziki over the northwest ridge.
