The Champ de Mars - Tour Eiffel train station (French: gare du Champ de Mars - Tour Eiffel ) is one of the most popular RER stations in southwest Paris near the Eiffel Tower .

history

The fate of the station is closely linked to the world exhibitions taking place in Paris . As early as 1867, a station was opened as an access point to the world exhibition taking place on the Champ de Mars . But this station was demolished a short time later. Even the stations built in 1878 and 1900 could not hold their own and were quickly closed after their construction. It wasn't until 1988 that the company dared to start over with a station on the newly created line C of the RER. Tourists in particular now had the opportunity to get from the Eiffel Tower via the Musée d'Orsay to the center of the city at the Saint-Michel - Notre-Dame train station without having to change trains .

Transfer options

There is a possibility of transferring via public transport at the Bir-Hakeim station to line 6 of the Paris Métro .
