Chanina ben Dosa
Chanina ben Dosa (* around 40 ; † around 75 ; ( Hebrew חנינא בן דוסא) also: Chanina ben Dossa ) was a Jewish scholar of antiquity and belonged to the 1st generation of Tannaites . He was a student of Jochanan ben Sakkai .
Life
He is described as a miracle worker and healer, and is the hero of numerous legends. He is related to Jochanan ben Sakkai and Gamaliel II (whose sons he is said to have saved from illness and death through his prayer), he was probably neither a Pharisee nor a rabbi .
When he died it was said that with him the "men of action" ( ansche ma'asse , miracle workers ) died out ( Sota 9.15). He was buried in Arraba in northern Israel .
