Jean-Jacques Fiechter

Jean-Jacques Fiechter (born May 25, 1927 in Alexandria , Egypt ) is a Swiss historian and writer .

Fiechter came from a Swiss family and was born in Egypt.

He successfully completed his history studies with a doctorate and then worked for many years as a historian. One focus of his work was the French Revolution, its surroundings and its effects.

After his successful debut as a writer, he and his family settled down as a freelance writer near Geneva .

In 1994 he won the Grand prix de littérature policière for his novel Tiré à part (German manuscript resulting in death ).
