Chaohu

Chaohu ( Chinese  巢湖 市 , Pinyin Cháohú Shì ) is an independent city in Hefei in the Chinese province of Anhui .

It has an area of ​​2,063 square kilometers and has around 880,000 inhabitants. The former residence of Feng Yuxiang ( 冯玉祥 旧居 , Féng Yùxiáng jiùjū ) located in their area is on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .

history

Before August 22, 2011, Chaohu was a district-free city with 9,423 square kilometers and approximately 4.5 million inhabitants. It consisted of the city district Juchao ( 居巢 区 , Jūcháo Qū ) and the districts Lujiang ( 庐江 县 , Lújiāng Xiàn ), Wuwei ( 无为 县 , Wúwéi Xiàn ), Hanshan ( 含山县 , Hánshān Xiàn ) and He ( 和 县 , Hé Xiàn ).

On that day, the prefecture was dissolved and divided between Hefei, Wuhu and Ma'anshan . The former Juchao district of Chaohu, was renamed Chaohu and forms today's independent city in Hefei.

Since January 1, 2015, Chaohu has been connected to the Chinese high-speed rail network via the newly built Ostbahnhof .

Administrative structure

At the community level, Chaohu consists of six street districts, eleven large parishes and one parish. The seat of the city government is the street district Woniushan (卧牛山 Straßen).
