history

Chaos Mon Amour was founded in 2010 by guitarist and frontman Michael Sell and multi-instrumentalist Johannes Hartmann (drums, cello and piano). Bassist Kay Rosenbach and guitarist and singer Raphael Hansen joined them later.

Made famous in Cologne through numerous appearances in clubs and at party series, the band has also made a name for itself nationwide through a street music tour and various club concerts as well as support gigs for larger bands such as Bella Donna (Italy), Torche (USA) and the Blur guitarist Graham Coxon (UK) can make a name for itself.

In February 2012, the debut album Dead End Paradise was released on the Cologne label Carioca Music via Intergroove.

Previous releases can be found on the band's own YouTube channel, for example , including the singles Moshpit , Dead End Paradise and Lost Pieces of Youth as well as live recordings and studio sessions.

The Internet portal Tonspion announced with regard to the debut album: Chaos Mon Amour "send the listener from one tonal extreme to the next" and "sound sometimes pathetic and epochal like Muse , sometimes experimental and melancholy like Radiohead and sometimes dark like Interpol ."

The Cologne Mensch-Magazin praised it: "You move [...] extremely dynamically in a direction that oscillates between intensely rousing pieces and dark compositions, without missing a catchy, melodic pop component."

For the release of the second album, Breathe Out the Past , the band started a project with various video artists, in which each of the eight songs is gradually illustrated and published separately on its own YouTube channel. The first results of this collaboration are A Little Death to Dance , Psychosomnia and Hunting .
