Chapa Dara is an Afghan district in western Kunar province .

It borders on the Nuristan province and is mainly inhabited by Pashtuns . In 2002 the district had 39,652 inhabitants.

history

Operation Rock Avalanche took place in Chapa Dara and various other locations from October 19-25, 2007 .

On July 25, 2011, a NATO attack helicopter crashed in the Chapa Dara region. The Taliban claim they shot him down.
