Charles Davis (flautist)

Charles Davis (* 29. September 1946 in Sydney , Australia) is an Australian jazz - flautist .

Davis first learned the guitar and played rock, pop and folk in various groups in England. Then he switched to the flute and initially performed in a jazz rock context; For a short time he also played the saxophone. Since the beginning of the 1980s he has mainly performed in a duo context. He attended workshops and master classes by James Newton , Robert Dick and Dieter Bihlmaier .

His flute quintet Four or more Flutes has existed since 1990 and is now presented with a large family of flutes , including a double bass flute. The album Fluturistic was presented as “CD of the month” in the specialist magazine “ Stereo ”.
