Charles Grant Beauregard (born August 1857 in New York State , † 1919 in Troy , New York ) was an American painter.

life and work

Beauregard, whose parents John and Margaret Beauregard were immigrants from Canada, taught in Troy at the Emma Willard Private School .

While he was initially concerned with portrait painting, he later turned to still lifes . But his pastoral landscape paintings are also known, the motif of which is often groups of trees on rivers with cows. He was strongly influenced by the painting style of the American painter John La Farge and the Hudson River School .
