Charles Hamilton (born November 10, 1987 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American rapper . He grew up in Harlem .

Career

Charles Hamilton signed a recording deal with Interscope Records in 2008 . That same year he became known to a wider audience through his debut single Brooklyn Girls . The song could reach the 57th place in the yearly published charts of the Rolling Stone magazine . The Brooklyn Girls music video was directed by Matt Alonzo. He produced a large number of mix tapes, but before his debut album was released, he fell out with the label. The album was put on hold and released as a free download only after the split.

Hamilton released more mixtapes incessantly, but it wasn't until 2014 that he found a new label on Republic Records . He recorded the single New York Raining with Rita Ora , which was played the following year at the end of the first season of the music soap Empire . It brought the US rapper the first chart placement.
