Charles Oulmont

Charles Oulmont (born November 1, 1883 in Mulhouse , † February 16, 1984 in Pontoise ) was a French writer.

Life

Charles Oulmont studied music with Gabriel Fauré at the Paris Conservatory as well as the humanities and arts at the Sorbonne and wrote a dissertation on religious mysticism ( Le Verger, le Temple et la Cellule ).

Since the beginning of the 1910s he has emerged as a writer of novels and plays. Encouraged by his uncle, Paul Oulmont , Oulmont collected paintings, furniture and art objects since his youth. He wrote writings on French art of the 18th century and an introduction to art history under the title Les Lunettes de l'amateur d'art .

Before his death, Oulmont set up a foundation to promote young artists. The holdings of his art collection were u after his death. a. given to the museums of Strasburg, Besançon, Mulhouse, Saint-Cloud, and Pontoise.
