Charles Riegert (born March 13, 1913 in Paris , † August 28, 1988 there ) was a French cyclist.

Athletic career

After the Second World War , Riegert was one of the cyclists who successfully represented the left-wing French workers' sports organization FSGT in international cycling races. In 1948, at the age of 35, he reached fifth place in the Grand Prix of the communist daily L'Humanité . In the two-country stage trip Prague - Warsaw in 1949, Riegert was nominated by the FSGT for the France I team (alongside France II and III). He won the fifth stage and achieved two second places in daily sections three and seven. With second place in the seventh stage, he moved up to third place in the overall classification, which he was able to defend on the eighth and final stage. At the Tour of Poland with twelve stages in the same year, Riegert came in sixth in the final ranking. Riegert was again nominated by the FSGT for the Polish - Czechoslovakian stage trip Warsaw - Prague in 1950 over nine stages. However, he was only initially successful with his team, which wore the blue jerseys of the leading team on three stages, but was then weakened by the elimination of three of the six drivers and only achieved ninth place in the final standings. Riegert, without a podium, came 37th out of 50 drivers in the overall individual ranking.
