Charles West
Charles H. West (born November 30, 1885 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , † October 10, 1943 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor.
Life
From 1904 West was active as a versatile actor on the stage. He made his film debut in 1908 under the direction of David Wark Griffith with the Biograph Company . He belonged to the permanent cast of this film company and was seen as a leading and supporting actor in numerous Griffith films. He stayed with Biograph until 1916, but increasingly appeared in productions for Selig , Paramount , Universal and other studios. In 1937 he ended his film career.
Between 1908 and 1937 he appeared in more than 300 films.
