Charlotte Booth (born April 6, 1975 in London , United Kingdom ) is a British archaeologist , Egyptologist and author of popular science works .

Career

Charlotte Booth was born in 1975 in Willesden , a neighborhood in the London Borough of Brent . She studied Egyptology at University College London (UCL), where she received her bachelor's degree in 2000 and her master's degree in 2002. She then went on to teach at Birkbeck (BBK), a college at the University of London . The focus of her studies at the university was the Hyksos period in ancient Egypt.

In 2015 she worked for the Museum of London Archeology (MOLA) as an on-site archaeologist on the Bethlam excavations on Liverpool Street in London. Since 2017 she has been working as a research assistant at the University of Birmingham , where she is writing her doctoral thesis ( Ph.D. ).

Booth has written a number of popular science books on various aspects of Egyptology. In addition, she regularly writes articles for magazines and journals.
