Charlotte Faircloth

Charlotte Faircloth is a British social scientist. As a Senior Lecturer , she is currently (2015) teaching in the Department of Social Science at the University of Roehampton , London. She is a pioneer in the young research field of parenting culture , which deals with the social construction of parenting in an interdisciplinary manner .

Life and research

After studying archeology and anthropology, Charlotte Faircloth received her doctorate from the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge with a study on attachment parenting . As a Mildred Blaxter Research Fellow , she then did research for the Foundation for the Sociology of Health and Illness ; she published the result of this study in 2013 under the title Militant Lactivism? released.

Faircloth is a founding member of the 2007 Center for Parenting Culture Studies (CPCS) at the University of Kent .
