Charmouth

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Charmouth is a village in the county of Dorset in England , Great Britain with around 1700 inhabitants. The location at the mouth of the River Char in the English Channel gave the town its name.

The cliffs on the local beach are known among fossil collectors for their high concentration of fossils. Just as closely as the neighboring community of Lyme Regis , Charmouth is therefore linked to the name of the dedicated hobby paleontologist Mary Anning .
