The charro is the traditional vaquero of Mexico . In the 1930s it was the type of mariachi .

origin

With the conquest, horses were brought to America by the Spaniards , which enabled the continent to be colonized relatively quickly . Except for the Tlaxcalteks , the indigenous people and mestizos were generally forbidden to ride horses. Since the livestock workers had to ride horses, they were obliged not to use military saddles and to clothe themselves in leather .

In the middle of the 19th century, these workers were organized by the state into "land corps" to take action against the attacks and kidnappings on the long overland routes. The first uniform takes place here, based on the workers' leather clothing. Since they were close to Maximilian of Mexico , an important influence on the trousers of the Charros is ascribed to this.

Charreria

The charrería is a Mexican national sport and consists of disciplines that are based on the requirements of animal husbandry, such as rodeo or Mexican bullfighting . It arose at the beginning of the 20th century from the activities of the Charros, which they carried out in their free time or to earn extra income. He is from Jalisco and Hidalgo .
