Charter for Children in Hospital

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Charter for Children in Hospitals is a list of demands of the European Association for Children in Hospital (EACH) as an umbrella organization of 18 member and associated societies from 16 European countries and Japan. The organizations demand the best possible medical treatment as a fundamental right, especially for children.

The charter has no international legal significance, but is used by non-governmental organizations that lobby children in hospitals. In Germany the EACH is represented by the Action Committee for Children in Hospitals (AKIK) and in Switzerland by “Kind & Spital” , the association for the rights of children and adolescents in the health care system. The Austrian Society for Child-Friendly Operation Preparation and Follow-up Care "Operation Eddy" is an associated member of EACH.
