Charter certificate

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The charter certificate allows 2000 Sport boat tourists since May 1, on certain inland waterways of the Federal Republic of Germany a chartered sport boat without boating license to lead. This exception to the general requirement for a boat driver's license is laid down in Section 9 of the Inland Shipping Sport Boat Rental Ordinance (BinSch SportbootVermV). The ordinance also stipulates which inland waters may be navigated with the charter certificate. In addition to general restrictions such as a driving ban at night, special safety regulations apply to some bodies of water, for example life jackets and a driving ban from wind force 4 .

In parlance, the term charter certificate has become established for the charter certificate, also with authorities . However, the charter certificate is not a driver's license .

The charter certificate may only be issued for rented pleasure craft with an existing liability insurance and less than 15 meters in length. The exhibitor is the boat rental company, who himself is the holder of the sports boat license and must have special knowledge of the sailing area. He issues the certificate after he has instructed the future vacation skipper for at least three hours in how to operate the boat. The certificate is only valid for the inland waters specified in it and only for the respective charter (rental) period.
