Chastain is an American heavy metal band from Ohio named after its founder and guitarist David T. Chastain.

history

The band was formed in Cincinnati in 1984 . The first line-up included former rude girl singer Leather Leone, bassist Mike Skimmerhorn and drummer Fred Coury , who later played for Cinderella .

After starting difficulties with the debut album Mystery of Illusion , which was recorded in the same year, the two albums Ruler of the Wasteland (1986) and The Seventh of Never (1987) followed. Ken Mary, the successor to Fred Coury, can already be heard on both albums.

This was followed by the new bassist David Harbor on the 1988 work Voice of the Cult and For Those Who Dare from 1990, when the drummer had to be changed again with John Luke Hebert because Ken Mary was drawn to Alice Cooper .

After a few solo projects by the band's founder, Sick Society appeared in 1995 and In Dementia in 1997 , which was recorded with a new line-up: Now Kate French sang, Kevin Kekes was on bass and Dennis Lesh, who had previously played with Trouble , was behind the drums.

Until the 2004 album In an Outrage is released , you don't hear from the band again. This time, too, something had changed in the cast: In addition to David Chastain and singer Kate French, her husband Larry Howe and Dave Starr (both Ex- Vicious Rumors ) were on board.

In 2013 the new album Surrender to No One was released , on which Leather Leone sings again. In 2015 David T. Chastain and Leather Leone collaborated again on We Bleed Metal .
