The Chastain Park Amphitheater is an amphitheater in Atlanta, Georgia .

history

In the course of the completion of North Fulton Park in the 1940s, the main architect of the property wanted to integrate an open-air concert arena into the park. Due to the high time pressure and the low budget, the park's architects decided to build a simple amphitheater as a concert area. The cost amounted at that time to 100,000 US dollars . Construction began in 1942 and was completed on June 20, 1944 as the North Fulton Park Amphitheater . In 1984, 1998 and 2004 the theater was renovated. It has been called Chastain Park Amphitheater since 1946 . Since the airline Delta Air Lines has owned the naming rights for the property since 2007, the sponsors' title is still not mentioned.

Concerts

Internationally known artists such as Eric Clapton ( Eric Clapton World Tour ), David Bowie ( A Reality Tour ), Cyndi Lauper ( True Colors Tour ) and Deep Purple ( Rapture of the Deep Tour ) have performed in the concert area .
