The Chatiu demons or “ the corpse demons ” embody the seven invisible Baktiu in ancient Egyptian mythology and astronomy . Each of the 36 Dean constellations changes its status from a living Baktiu to that of a dead Chatiu once during the year when he enters the Duat . In the Nutbuch in the Dean chapter, the negative effect of these protective demons is described when the "hidden names of the gods" were pronounced publicly.

The role of the Chatiu demons is also the subject of the embalming ritual , in which the deceased is promised to transform his basin into any of the 36 Dean stars. In the Louvre Papyrus 2420c , the owner of a sarcophagus requests admission to the Chatiu demons. In the Egyptian Book of the Dead , this wish is standardized under No. 158 in the “saying for a golden collar ”: “Loosen me, look at me. I am one of those (Chatiu deans) who belong to the solution when they see Geb. ”Every person who is granted this request in the realm of the dead comes to new life in equation with the rebirth of the dean star.
