Chegutu , also Cheguto, formerly Hartley, New Hartley, is a town with 50,255 inhabitants (2012 census) in the province of Mashonaland West 110 km southeast of Harare in Zimbabwe on the Harare - Bulawayo highway and railroad .

Chegutu is in a very rural area with a lot of subsistence farming, has two primary schools, no hospital, some textile industry. Lime has been mined in Chegutu since the 2000s and processed into quicklime as an alternative to cement, but also as a fertilizer.
