Chema

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chema was an ancient Egyptian official around 1900 BC. In the middle of the 12th Dynasty ( Middle Kingdom ) under Amenemhet II. A mayor and priestly head of Elephantine and the father of Sarenput II. His parents are unknown.

Chema appears to have only served briefly. So far there are no known monuments from his own tenure, but his son Sarenput II donated a shrine and a statue to him in the sanctuary of Heqaib . The shrine bears the name of Amenemhet II, under whom Chema may have officiated. His grave has not yet been found or identified .
