The Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office Münsterland-Emscher-Lippe (CVUA MEL) is an institution under public law . The task of the CVUA MEL is the examination and assessment of samples from the areas of food , feed and veterinary monitoring as well as consumer goods . The number of samples is determined by the State Office for Nature, the Environment and Consumer Protection in North Rhine-Westphalia and taken on site by the food inspectors from the local food control department.

Emergence

The CVUA MEL was founded on July 1st, 2009 by the establishment ordinance MEL. The AöR took over the tasks of the "Chemical State and State Veterinary Investigation Office Münster" and "Chemical and Food Investigation Office for the Recklinghausen district and the city of Gelsenkirchen in the Emscher-Lippe region". The board currently consists of Thorsten Stahl and Michael Heitmann. The investigation office is located in Münster.

The CVUA Münsterland-Emscher-Lippe is responsible for the administrative district of Münster with a total of approx. 2.6 million inhabitants and thus includes the following districts and independent cities:
