The Chemnitzer Skater-Gemeinschaft eV (also Chemnitzer Skatergemeinschaft , Chemnitzer SG for short) is a Chemnitzer sports club with a focus on speed skating , which is operated on a competitive level. Another department is inline speed skating . The club was founded on July 1, 1993 as the successor to the speed skating department of 1. TSV Limbach-Oberfrohna , which was dissolved at the end of the year . The 400 m open-air artificial ice rink , which was built in 1974 as part of the Küchwald ice sports complex and is part of the Chemnitz / Dresden Olympic base, serves as a training facility .

Originally the club was a pure speed skating club, in 2009 inline skating, primarily speed skating, was started. The club has produced several nationally and internationally successful speed skaters, including Nico Ihle , Denny Ihle and Alexej Baumgärtner (until 2003).
