Chen Shu-Chih

Chen Shu-Chih (* 1971 ) is a former Taiwanese weightlifter.

Career

Chen Shu-Chih grew up in Tainan and attended high school there. She did athletics and weightlifting as a recreational sport . In 1987 she learned from her athletic trainer Tsai Wen-Yi that from 1988 international championships were held in weightlifting for women and decided to make weightlifting her main sport. Tsai Wen-Yi took over the training of the weightlifters from then on. From 1988 to 1996, Chen Shu-Chih competed in the World Championships every year and achieved first-class results. Her greatest successes were the victories at the World Championships in Melbourne in 1993 and in Guangzhou / People's Republic of China in 1995 , each in the weight class up to 83 kg body weight - valid from 1993 to 1997 .

In 1997, she ended her career as an active weightlifter and trained as a qualified sports teacher at the Chinese National Sports University (CPES).
