Chen Wei

Chen Wei ( Chinese  陈伟 , Pinyin Chén Wěi , born June 19, 1977 ) is a former Chinese badminton player .

Career

Chen Wei won the 1999 Hong Kong Open in men's singles. At the 1997 China Open , he was fifth. He was also fifth at the Asian Badminton Championships in the men's doubles with Xia Xuanze in the same year . At the Scottish Open 1996 he was in the final of the doubles. In the round of 16 of the Swedish Open 1999 he was defeated in the singles against Taufik Hidayat . He made it into the quarter-finals at the Thailand Open 1999 as well as at the Badminton Asian Championship of the same year. At Mongolia International he was in the final again in 2005.
