Chen Xiexia (陈 燮 霞, Chén Xièxiá ,; * August 1, 1983 in Panyu ) is a Chinese weightlifter in the weight class up to 48 kilograms.

Career

At the 2007 World Weightlifting Championships in Chiang Mai , Chen Xiexia won three gold medals: with 96 kilograms in snatch, 118 kilograms in jerk and 214 kilograms in duel. She repeated this in the same year at the Asian Cup, where she also won all three titles, set a world record in pushing with 120 kilograms and lifted a total of 215 kilograms.

doping

The series of post-doping tests carried out in 2016 on the stored samples from the 2008 Olympic Games revealed that Chen Xiexia had gained her first place by taking hormones and other substances. The IOC therefore subsequently disqualified her from the 2008 Olympic Games, where she originally won gold with a new Olympic record (see also the list of disallowed Olympic medals ).
