Cheongnyangni-dong ( 청량리동 ) is a neighborhood in the Dongdaemun-gu district of Seoul .
history
The name is derived from the Cheongnyang Temple that used to be located here.
In 1899 the first tram in Korea went to Cheongnyangni. Cheongnyangni Railway Station opened in 1911.

Science and Research
Cheongnyangni is home to KAIST's Seoul campus with its Graduate School of Business Administration and the Korea Institute for Advanced Study , Hallim University , the State Institute for Defense Analysis, the State Research Institute for Forest Science and the Hongneung Arboretum .
Attractions
King Gojong and Queen Myeongseong are buried in Yeonghwiwon and Sunginwon (formerly known as Hongneung Tombs ) .
