Cheshire Island is a 80 m long and equally wide island in the archipelago of the Adelaide and Biscoe Islands off the Loubet coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 25 m from Rothera Point on Adelaide Island .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2016. It was named after Alan Armstrong Cheshire (* 1955) from the British Antarctic Survey , radio operator on the Faraday and Rothera stations from 1976 to 1979.
