The Chester Cone is a 188 m high and conical hill in the west of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It looms in the center of the Byers Peninsula .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it on July 7, 1959 after Captain Chester of the Essex sealer , who was part of the Stonington , Connecticut fleet that operated in the waters around the South Shetland Islands from 1821 to 1822.
