Chestnut Ridge and Schellsburg Union Church and Cemetery is a church and graveyard of historic importance in Bedford County , Pennsylvania .

Chestnut Ridge and Schellsburg Union Church was built in 1806 as a cellarless, one-room wooden church with a rectangular floor plan on the land of settler John Schell. To protect against the effects of the weather, inverted formwork was installed in 1881 . This was removed again in 1936, with some of the original oak trunks being replaced by new ones. The original pews are grouped in two rows of six each. On the east, south and west sides of the church there is a gallery with two outside windows. The pulpit is octagonal and has a diameter of approximately four feet. The current interior was completed by 1820. At the same time as the church, the cemetery was built around the Chestnut Ridge and Schellsburg Union Church.

Until 1843, the Chestnut Ridge and Schellsburg Union Church was used as a Reformed and Lutheran church. The congregation then gathered in a new church in Schellsburg, with the Calvinists celebrating masses in the Chestnut Ridge and Schellsburg Union Church until 1853. On November 19, 1959, the Chestnut Ridge and Schellsburg Union Church Cemetery Association was formed , which consisted of clergy of the Reformed, Lutherans , Presbyterians and Methodists to jointly administer the church and cemetery. In June 1860 the church was consecrated again. As a result, it was mainly used for funeral ceremonies.

On January 12, 2005, Chestnut Ridge and Schellsburg Union Church and Cemetery was added to the National Register of Historic Places . In addition to the church and cemetery, the sexton's house, built in 1860, and a single-storey building immediately next to it that could have served as a kitchen or storage room are considered contributing properties .
