It is the third of four films to be released on one of the Paul Temple Radio plays by Francis Durbridge are based. The film premiered in May 1950, was shown in the Federal Republic of Germany in 1951 and in Austria in 1952.

action

A mysterious stranger, known to everyone only by the name "Z", heads a dangerous spy group that does not work for any particular state, but is ready to commit crimes on behalf of any power. Paul Temple is involved in the case when the researcher Prof. Hardwick is kidnapped and his daughter asks his wife Steve for help. Hardwick's daughter soon becomes a victim of the mysterious man behind the scenes, but she is not the only corpse. Temple goes to Scotland to investigate the matter. What is certain is that everyone who knows the true identity of "Z" must die. One track leads to a fancy hotel. But where is Prof. Hardwick? Temple has several suspects and can unmask one of them as a perpetrator and ultimately free the missing professor from the clutches of the now exposed "Z".
