Since the middle of 1967 he has neglected his cinema activity and a decade later returned to the screen only for the composition of a Valentino biography with Rudolf Nureyev in the title role. Black appeared in these later years as a guest conductor with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra and went on tour tours that made him a. a. also to Winnipeg (Canada), Boston (USA), New Zealand , Belgium , the Netherlands and Japan , where he performed with the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra.
