Chester "Chet" Walker (born February 22, 1940 in Benton Harbor , Michigan ), called Chet the Jet , is a retired American basketball player .
Between 1962 and 1975 he played in the NBA for the teams of the Syracuse Nationals / Philadelphia 76ers and Chicago Bulls . He reached the playoffs in all 13 years. At the end of the 1962/63 season, Walker was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team for his first year performance .
He was part of the 1967 Sixers' championship team that ended the supremacy of the Boston Celtics . In 2012 he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame .
