Chhatrapur is a small town in the Indian state of Odisha .
The city is the capital of the Ganjam district . Chhatrapur has the status of a Notified Area Committee . The city is divided into 14 wards . It had a total of 22,027 inhabitants on the cut-off date of the 2011 census, of which 11,100 were men and 10,927 women. Hindus form the largest group of the city's population with a share of approx. 97%, followed by Muslims with approx. 2% and Christians with approx. 1%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 89.84%.
The city is connected to the national rail network by a train station.
