Chhewang Nima
Chhewang Nima (also Chuwang Nima ) (born August 20, 1967 , † October 25, 2010 ) was a Nepalese mountaineer.
He accompanied numerous tours in the Himalayas as a high mountain carrier and was considered one of the most experienced mountaineers in the world. He reached the summit of Mount Everest 19 times , the first time on May 3, 1994. Only a few months later he was on the summit for the second time. He also climbed Cho Oyu twice (2002 and 2003) and reached the middle summit of Shishapangma in 2004.
On the way to the summit of the 7129 meter high Baruntse in the eastern Himalaya region, he was hit by an avalanche on October 23, 2010 at a height of 7045 meters; the search was discontinued on October 25, 2010 without success.
