The Chien d'Artois is a French dog breed recognized by the FCI ( No. 28, Gr. 6, Sec. 1.2 ) .
Origin and history
Today's Chien d'Artois is the smaller variant (up to 58 cm, 30 kg) of the extinct Grand Chien d'Artois , which is descended from a black variety of the Hubertus dog , crossed with English hunting dogs .
description
The fur is short, robust, close-fitting in the colors three-colored, dark-tawny up to rabbit or badger-colored, with a coat or large spots; the head is usually fawn, sometimes blackened. The ears are set on the line of the eyes; somewhat thick, broad, with a rounded end, almost flat and quite long; reaching to the base of the nose.

The Chien d'Artois is a Briquet and is used mainly for hunting rifle: a track according -hunting dog can, of drifting toward the prey to the hunter and record a track again. It used to be used in the pack .
