The Chilanko River is an approximately 100 km long right tributary of the Chilcotin River in the Canadian province of British Columbia .

The Chilanko River rises southeast of Aktaklin Lake . It flows through the Chilcotin Plateau in a predominantly eastern direction. Major tributaries are Sucker Creek and Tatla Lake Creek , both from the right. Below the confluence of Tatla Lake Creek is the village of Chilanko Forks on the north bank of the river. The mouth of the Chilanko River is 20 km above the confluence of the Chilko River with the Chilcotin River. The Chilanko River drains an area with little precipitation with an area of ​​1790 km². The mean discharge at the mouth is only 700 l / s.
