Children of the Sun is the only music album by the Sallyangie duo , whose members were siblings Mike and Sally Oldfield . It was released in 1969 on Transatlantic Records .
Emergence
According to the booklet of a re-release with bonus tracks on CD, Sally Oldfield said that she had composed all the songs on the guitar within two days. The author credits for the titles themselves mostly go to her brother alone, so only four songs would be collaborative work. Nathan Joseph produced the album for Transatlantic Records. Two singles were released.

Reviews
Richie Unterberger from Allmusic believes that the “naive folk with pop echoes, which is out of the way even for the 1960s standard” and flute and percussion accompaniment is still of interest today, mainly because of the prominent performers. The songs flow through a “fairytale atmosphere”, Mike's guitar playing and restrained vocals are rather inconspicuous next to Sally's “high, trilling vocals”.
