China High Speed Transmission Equipment Group (CHSTE); (Chinese: 中國 高速 傳動 設備 集團 有限公司 ), also known as China Transmission, is a mechanical engineering company and gear transmission manufacturer based in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province in the People's Republic of China. The company is registered in the Cayman Islands .
history
The company was founded in 1969 as Nanjing Machine Repair Factory and renamed Nanjing Machine Tool Repairing Plant in 1976 . In 2001, it became a public company and was established in Nanjing High Speed & Accurate Gear Co., Ltd. renamed. In 2005/2006 the name was changed to China High Speed Transmission Equipment Group Co., Ltd. The company was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE) for the first time on July 4, 2007 and has been included in the renewable energy share index (RENIXX) since July 2009 .
China Transmission is one of the leading manufacturers of gear drive units for wind turbines up to 3 MW and 3.6 MW and cooperates with several companies worldwide, including General Electric (USA), Alstom (France), SMS Holding (Germany), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Japan) .
